Blowout to smoke up Biloela
BURNOUTS: The Bilo Blowout will light up on March 23 at the Biloela Showgrounds with a full day of burnout competitions.
Event organiser Quentin Rogers said the burnout day was receiving positive responses from the community.
"There will be a full day of burnouts and the good thing about the competition is that it will give people a place to do them and keep them off the public roads,” Rogers said.
"Competitors so far will be coming from here, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, Bundaberg and around the region.”
It is expected to get up to 60-plus cars on the day to excite spectators and participants, and nominations will be accepted on the day.
There will be two guest judges, Jason "Whiplash” Earl and Phillip "Hectic Skids” Knott.
The prizes on offer will be: Open V8 Class - first place, winner takes all, V8 Class and Six and Four Class.
Gates open at 9am and the first skids will start at 11am.
Bar, food and camping will be available and there will be a kids' tent to amuse the children, while the grown-ups watch the spectacular motor vehicle burnouts.
Entry costs are adults $10, students/concession $5 and kids under 12 free.
"This is shaping up to be a great day and the drivers do this for the fun of it and enjoy it,” Rogers said.
