UPDATE: Police have located the driver of a road train believed to have been involved in this incident and the driver is assisting police with their inquiries.

At this time we are not treating this as a "hit and run" incident.   Major Crash investigators along with Mid-West Gascoyne Traffic officers are still urging anyone who may have seen the incident or the boys and road train prior to the crash to call Crime Stoppers

10:30 AM - POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal incident, which occurred at a Western Australian Road house Tuesday night.   

A 7 year old boy suffered critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle outside of a Roadhouse located on Midlands Road in Mingenew.   

Major Crash officers believe the vehicle was possibly a "large truck", which did not stop. 

It is believed the driver may not be aware of the incident.   

The 7 year old boy who was with his brother at the time received critical injuries and was taken to Dongara Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

Major Crash officers would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or any large truck in the area of the Roadhouse prior to the incident.
