Monster garage sale, monster bargains, monster impact
THE Biloela Rotary Club is having a Monster Garage Sale at the Showgrounds to support the Umoja Orphanage in Kenya, and local residents can score the bargains.
Rotary member Helen Fitzgerald said the Umoja project was something the club had been supporting for quite some time.
"We have been supporting them since their inception, for about the last seven years,” Ms Fitzgerald said.
"They provide homes and a new life for at-risk children.
"They are building their second orphanage at the moment.”
There will be a huge variety of goods on sale to live up to the 'monster' name tag.
"Everything from sporting equipment, toys, games, household items, everything you can imagine and something for everybody,” Ms Fitzgerald said.
"A lot of the stuff we have is brand new.”
The Rotary Club wants the community to support their fundraising efforts.
They'll also have on sale sausages on bread and drinks, so bring the family down for some lunch or a snack on the go.
"I expect there'll be some healthy funds raised with the amount of goods we have,” Ms Fitzgerald said.
"We just hope the community gets behind us and comes and spends some money.”
The Monster Garage Sale will run from 9am-3pm on August 11 from the Rotary Shed at the Biloela Showgrounds.
