Pack an umbrella, showers and storms predicted

THERE might be some rain this weekend for the Biloela region with possible rain forecast to bring some much needed relief

The Bureau of Meteorology shows today to be partly cloudy with a high chance of showers to the south of the region and medium chance elsewhere, with the possibility of a thunderstorm.

Depending on where you are, it might pay to pack an umbrella for the weekend.

Overnight temperatures are predicted to fall to the low-to-mid 20s with daytime temperatures reaching 31-36C.

The weekend will see a similar weather pattern of a high chance of showers in the south and medium elsewhere and the possibility of a thunderstorm. Temperatures overnight are expected to be in the low 20s and daytime temperatures reaching around 30C.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Michael Gray said there was a surface trough from Mount Isa to Romaaffecting local weather.

"Its causing quite a few storms to the east of the trough line and the Biloela region will get some of them,” Mr Gray said.

"There is more likely heavy rainfalls to the south and lighter ones in the north of Biloela.

"In the broader area on Saturday there can be some showers.”

During the start of the working week, an easterly wind pattern will come through with possible coastal showers that might make it inland.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday there will be possible showers and partly cloudy weather with overnight temperatures in the low 20s and daytime temperatures in the low-to-mid 30s.
