Ripping skids and hot rods for cancer
FOR just a gold coin you can enjoy the action of hot rods ripping skids on the pad and contribute to a worthwhile cause.
The Callide Valley Auto Club is hosting ‘Madi’s Mad Day Out’, an event with all the proceeds to help fundraise 22-year-old Madison Marxson’s trip to Mexico for lifesaving treatment for a rare form of kidney cancer.
Callide Valley Auto Club secretary Margaret Fisher said this was a special occasion for her club which had direct ties to Madison.
“We got in touch with Madi and her family about six weeks ago prior to a club meeting to get this show on the road,” Mrs Fisher said.
“Her uncle Adam is a registered member of our club and will be helping cook up smoked meat on the day.
“It’ll be a good outing for a good cause, a good family and a young girl who’s trying to get on with life.”
For just a gold coin entry patrons can bring a chair and enjoy watching Auto Club members tear up the skid pad or pay $5 to take a cruise around town in one of the many show cars on display.
“The drivers may be one to taking people out on the skid pad for a bit of money, passengers just need to be in long pants, long shirt and enclosed shoes.”
There will be food available and a bar operating thanks to Biloela Rotary Club members.
November 16 from 2pm at the Biloela Showgrounds.
