Warm June week in Biloela

IT CERTAINLY hasn't felt like winter for much of this week in Biloela.

After the chill of last week, the sun is out and the temperatures have been warmer than normal this week, according to Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Kimba Wong.

"This week we have been seeing generally higher than average temperatures in the day and night,” Ms Wong said.

"The average temperature for Biloela in June is 23.4 degrees and the average overnight minimum is 7 degrees.

"So it looks like overnight temperatures are going to stick around that 4 degrees warmer than average.

"And daytime maximums will be a couple of degrees above average, peaking on Friday at 27 degrees.”

These warmer than average June temperatures have the chance to produce some light showers this weekend, similar to last weekend.

"Coming into the weekend, we do have a slightly increasing chance of some showers coming around with a trough that's passing through, from the west to the east, and then coming up the Queensland coast from the south,” Ms Wong said.

"Possibly showers Saturday and Sunday, clearing Monday when that trough comes through the region.

"Sunday is the best chance to get between 5mm-10mm of rain.”
