timelapse of storm over Toowoomba: Toowoomba resident captured this timelapse of a storm brewing over the CBD.

A TOOWOOMBA weather watcher took the time to capture a storm brewing over the Garden City on Wednesday afternoon.

Duane Granzien caught the action unfolding in the Toowoomba CBD as clouds overhead thickened and darkened dramatically.

It was just the beginning of a run of damp weather that forecasters say will last until Wednesday.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Lauren Pattie said the weather system that brought rain to us  on Wednesday was on the move and related conditions should have already cleared.

But a new and somewhat complicated "upper low" weather system would continue the wet streak.

Ms Pattie said the current system was heading off to the north-east, to be replaced by the new system which was likely to bring rain and possible storms from this afternoon through until Monday.

There was a good chance of at least a little rain each day.

"It's an upper low system and ... we can expect some showers, storms and rain associated with that, but there is a little uncertainty about where that will sit," Ms Pattie said.

"But there will definitely be rain ... over the coming days.

"There will be a more significant increase from the weekend, particularly on Sunday."

She said the system would sit over Queensland and dissipate to the west, so the further from the coast, the less the chance of heavy rain.

It would be a similar story until Monday, when residents to both the east and west of Toowoomba would be feeling the damp a lot more than the Garden City itself.
